The next PPG meeting will be held at the Practice on Thursday 11 December 2018 at 2pm. All welcome.
Do you keep your appointments?
At the last MPPG meeting we were told about ground breaking research that is being done within the practice to identify the demographics behind DNAs.
Not your genetic makeup. But the acronym DID NOT ATTEND.
In other words you made an appointment and failed to go to see your doctor or healthcare professional.
During August this year it was found that 34 doctors appointments and 44 nurse appointments were missed at a cost of £1884.00 to the practice.
This deprived that same number of other patients potential appointments.
It was revealed that the age group most likely to be guilty of failing to attend their booked appointment was the 60 to 69 years age group. Diabetic and patients with mental health issues missed their appointments.
These are patients who would benefit from seeing their healthcare professional.
What more can the team at the Practice do to ensure that the attend your appointment?
But most importantly how do we make ourselves become more responsible when using this very valuable NHS service that we take very much for granted.
If you think you have ideas how to help improve this waste and could give a couple of hours of your time every other month to help the already high quality service provided and learn more of how we work - contact the staff on reception.
